Today we started with breaky at the deli, this was a very inexpensive way to get breakfast and it was a good breakfast too. Then we hopped onto the subway headed towards Filene’s Basement to look for Boxing Day sales:

I can never take enough subway photos! And we were very impressed with the public tranportation system in the city. You could get ANYWHERE by subway, bus or cheap taxi. There is no need for a car in this city. In fact, I’d be freightened to drive here. And I’m not afraid to drive in Mexico! It is so much more crazy here.
We arrived at 18th, and went in search of Filene’s.

We didn’t find too many deals here, but did find some in TJ Maxx upstairs. Then we headed back to the subway. On the way we came across this really neat little store that made these ceramic hearts, what a neat idea:

Took some more photos on the way:

Then we found the subway and headed toward Battery Park where we were going to take our guided tour of Brooklyn.

I really like these two:

We boarded the motorcoach and soon found that our guide – although from Brooklyn himself and therefore very enthusiastic about the burrough – had a huge booming voice and liked to yell, nonstop. THEN he turned on the microphone! Sweet jesus. A headache started to form. How long were we stuck on here?? 1.5 hours. Mother mary.
All these photos were taking through windows, so forgive the quality. We did see some great sites and famous places from movies, tv, and such. But I was very happy that I had noise-cancelling ear-buds in my purse from my iPhone and about halfway through I had to put these in my ears or I was going to lose it!
Going through China Town:

i don’t think this guy got the memo (or read the sign)

Approaching the bridge (Washington??)

Once you get above street level, you get a great view of all the graffiti:

These are rent-stabalized apartments:

Great playground:

I absolutely love the look of this place:

Brooklyn Bridge:

The Huckstables’ place:

I like this one:

Coming back to Manhattan:

We left the tour cherishing the silence of WAll Street (hah) and walked up towards Century 21 again, passing by the WAll Street bull and the people taking photos with its arse:

Wall street gets no sunlight:

another church in Wall Street…Trinity I think?

I loved the little graveyard for photos:

New York’s finest:

WTC site again:

We tried to do some shopping, but again it was still way to crowded. So we got on a tour bus and headed back to the hotel. We all got changed and went to Hell’s Kitchen for dinner again, finding a little steakhouse called Rachel’s. Dinner was great and inexpensive.

Then we grabbed a cab to Madison Square Gardens for Cirque du Soleil Wintuk. The show was great, like any Cirque show. But not as good as O which we saw in Vegas. Again, Jorden absolutely loved it and started a standing ovation, whooping and hollering!! Kelsey loved it too.
